This class 125 union is a bonze pipe fitting with male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for connecting and extending female pipes. The union has NPT threads and solder connection on the ends for creating tighter seals than straight threads and can usually be taken apart more easily than couplings. The class 125 fitting is made from bronze, which is more economical, machinable, and offers greater corrosion resistance than steel. Class is a standard relating to tolerance, construction, dimension, and wall thickness, but it is not a direct measurement of maximum working pressure.
