Curb Stop Red Brass Ball Valves are ideal for use in water service lines. Water tight in EITHER direction, easy turning, nonbinding, and minimum pressure loss- these characteristics are added to good engineering design, quality and precise manufacturing. The valve is non-directional and is watertight with flow in either direction. The brass components in contact with potable water conform to ASTM B584, UNS C89833 and identified with "NL". And brass components not in contact wit potable water conform to ASTM B584, UNS C83600.

INSTRUCTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS:

• 1) Do not drop or throw valve. Do not use a pipe wrench. Use only smooth-jawed, adjustable wrenches that fully and evenly engage the product wrench flats, not on round surfaces. Loose fitting wrenches and pipe wrenches will distort the valve and cause leaks.
• 2) Use a suitable sealant or three rounds of PTFE tape on tapered pipe threads.
• 3) Pressure test the service line and ball valve before backfilling. Making repairs after backfilling is costly. Inspect all valves, fittings, joints and pipe. Test valves for proper operation.
• 4) Backfill and compact earth with care to avoid damage or stress to the curb box, valve or service line.
• 5) Protect from freezing, which may distort ball and other components and cause leaks. Do not forcibly try to open or close valve if frozen. This will destroy the valve.
• 6) The curb stop ball vale should be operated in either the fully opened or the fully closed position.

WARNING: 

Do not use on gas lines. Installation on gas lines can result in serious injury or death.
