Each exhibition hall covers an area of 70 square meters, with a total area of 103500 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 100000 square meters. The Expo Center is still under expansion and is expected to be completed in 2010 with 18 exhibition halls. The indoor exhibition area will be expanded to 200000 square meters and the outdoor exhibition area will be expanded to 130000 square meters. The facilities of the Expo Center include exhibition hall, conference center, business center, hotel, bank, post and telecommunications, transportation service, catering, etc. Domestic and foreign suppliers can hold all kinds of exhibitions in this area. Each size of the hall of Shanghai New International Expo Center is 70m × 185 meters, an area of 11547 square meters. The exhibition hall has a column free structure on the first floor. There are 11 exhibition halls in 2013, with an area of 126500 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 100000 square meters.

SNIEC's comprehensive expansion plan will be completed in 2010, when the indoor area will reach 200000 square meters and the outdoor area will reach 130000 square meters. After completion, there will be 17 exhibition halls, three entrance halls and a tower. According to market demand, a tower will also be built, including hotel, office building and Conference Center. In the first stage of 2013, the total investment is 99 million US dollars. There are four exhibition halls and one entrance hall, with 45000 square meters of indoor and outdoor exhibition area of 20000 square meters, ground load of 30KN / square meters, static space height of 11-17 meters, 8 doors for each hall and 5.3 square meters × 4.1 meters. The exhibition hall is divided into entrance, entrance, flexible unloading, equipment, office, canteen, dining room and crate warehouse.
